"PhD in Social Policy award either the PhD in Government and Social Policy or the PhD in Sociology and Social Policy. This is a joint PhD program for students who wish to combine the full disciplinary depth of a doctoral degree in political science or sociology with multidisciplinary study of issues of social policy. Students should have central interests in problems of economic inequality; neighborhoods and spatial segregation; changing family structure; immigration, race, and labor market segmentation; educational inequality; and historical and comparative studies of social policy in the United States and abroad."
